chocolate city

If anyone knows me, they are well aware of the fact that i have a love-hate, mostly hate relationship with Washington D.C. Well today, I experienced a taste of this city's rich history while skimming through a catalogue of photographer Addison Scurlock's iconic photos of the 1920s, 30s, and 40s. Thanks Mr. Scurlock for making the diamond district seem less lackluster, and for quelling (somewhat) my qualms about this stifling city.

Today is natural hair day. Although this is not a natural hair blog... there's some great imagery circulating around the blogosphere that celebrates the iconography of natural hair...such as one of my personal favorites, Le Coil. Check them out at lecoil.tumblr.com.
