visualité + bloglovin' | my fab 4

people say that the blogosphere is the democratization of the web. i say that blogs represent the democratization of inspiration. there are so many wonderful creative people out there doing amazing things. here are a few of my favorites:

Karen Blanchard
karen-wheredidugetthat.blogspot.com

the most stylish brit that ever walked the face of the earth, or the streets of new york city. she's been featured on Blufly, Paper Magazine, Coach, Essence, and countless other incredible sites that recognize amazing talent on the web. her daily ensembles are like breaths of fresh air. follow her here!

Kelly Framel

kelly framel is a genius. her wardrobe is endless. her creativity, unmatched. and seeing as though she was tapped to model + style Forever 21's Twelve by Twelve collection in Los Angeles, she's definitely on my radar for future fashion moguls to watch. She even has her own drawstring bag that she designed in collaboration with Coach. Needless to say, she's one of my favorite bloggers to date.

Lori Cotton
HisHerschicago.com

i first encountered lori's blog on one of my favorite online sites, clutch magazine. she was named their "monday's muse".  the styling, the colors, and textures within her photographs had me hooked! not to mention, lori's beautiful coif of hair. every day i visit the site just to get inspiration for what to wear and what combination of staple pieces and accessories to create enhance my ensembles. serendipitously i ran into lori in Chicago last week, and we managed to snap a few photos. Follow her blog here!

Despite the grim reports on the decline of Detroit's economy, there are a select few young, upwardly mobile burgeoning professionals who seek to reshape the public's perspective of this troubled city, highlighting contemporary cultural production as a glimmering speck of hope for what was once America's economic Mecca. No matter how pessimistic the outlook may be, art production will never cease. If you're in the Motor City anytime before July 25th, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) is featuring the first solo exhibition of artist/photographer Latoya Ruby Frazier. Frazier chronicles 10 years of photographs exploring her own family, and "the psychological and biological lineage that unites her grandmother, mother and herself, revealing at the same time the unavoidable issues of race, class, conflict and substance abuse that surround them." (MOCAD) Go see Mother May I  at the MOCAD today!

fierce

i know i should be posting about vintage shopping and wicker park, but i cannot deny the fiercity of this photo of blogging goddess Karen Blanchard. this mixmaster's style is the embodiment of impeccable ecclectic taste.
